The Mesquite Woman's Club featured the official induction the group's new slate of officers at their monthly meeting on April 18th. The new officers will provide leadership for the organization from June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2014 at their monthly meeting on April 18th. Club member and current officer Barbara Griffin installed the new officers at the ceremony. Officers were inducted using the theme of a clock. She related the officers' duties to the functions of various clock parts.
The new officers include Pat Venner, president; Shannon Webb, vice-president; Eunice Futrell, secretary; Jamie Alford, assistant secretary; Ann Kyle, treasurer; Frances Woolley, assistant treasurer; Emily Tosch, reporter; and Jan Davis, parliamentarian. The incoming president Pat Venner said that she was already getting the group of officers into high gear. Committee work and programs for the upcoming year are now being planned to provide for a smooth transition in leadership.
The Mesquite Woman's Club was organized in 1936 by women from the area's pioneering families, and has occupied a unique position in the growth and development of the Mesquite area. It has been, and continues to be, a vital part of the community's efforts to promote and support civic projects and worthy causes.
