Boys basketball: Coppell names Keller Central's Pehl head coach

Coppell has named former Keller Central head boys basketball coach Kit Pehl to the same position, athletic director John Crawford confirmed Tuesday.
Pehl led Central to the District 7-5A title this season, finishing ahead of the Cowboys, and will replace Brad Chasteen, who resigned following 16 seasons at Coppell.
Pehl has ties to Coppell, having coached one season at Coppell Middle School West and spending one year on Chasteen's staff at CHS before moving on to Keller and later opening Central.
Crawford added that Coppell is closing in on its replacement for the girls basketball head coaching vacancy.
