Women's Foundation opens grant process

You've come a long way, Baby. And the Dallas Women's Foundation wants to make sure you continue to succeed.
Any non-profit investing its resources to address issues facing women and girls is cordially invited to apply for a grant courtesy of Dallas Women's Foundation. Application deadline is Monday, July 9.
Dallas Women's Foundation invested $139,250 this year in Collin County toward its stated mission to strengthen entire communities by increasing resources geared toward empowering women and girls, and similar philanthropy. Recipients include Texas Muslim Women's Foundation, which received a grant of $67,250 to help provide general operating support toward a domestic violence shelter, among other social programs. Hope's Door was awarded $12,000 to help underwrite expenses for its domestic violence shelter. Habitat for Humanity of South Collin County acquired $60,000 via Dallas Women's Foundation to provide support for the 11th Street Development Project.
To be eligible for consideration, an organization must meet the following criteria:
* Have current 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation from the Internal Revenue Service (dated within the past 10 years).
* At least 50 percent of its clients are residents of Dallas, Denton or Collin counties.
* At least 75 percent of clients benefitting from the grant funding are women and girls.
As part of its vetting process, Dallas Women's Foundation evaluates each grant based on attributes such as long-term chances for helping women succeed in reaching their full potential; offering choice and opportunities for women and girls; utilizing tools that include measurement for effectiveness with clear definition of program success; and designing programs that specifically take into consideration the needs and differences of women and girls.
