| Neil Victor Hansen |
Neil Victor Hansen of Lewisville, Texas passed away August 9, 2012.
He was born March 8, 1925 in Lehigh, Iowa to the late Victor Willie Hansen and Ruth Dickson Shearer.Following graduation from Lehigh High School, Neil enlisted in the United States Navy and served as first class communication specialist during World War II.
Neil married Kathleen on June 30, 1951. They lived in Lehigh, Iowa where they raised their three children, Michelle, Victor, and Lisa. Neil worked in the family lumber business and Kathleen was a registered nurse. The family later moved to Lewisville, Texas in 1971.
Neil was an avid gardener, loved animals, active member of AARP, enjoyed building furniture, and baking bread and cheese cakes. But most of all he loved making jokes. Neil was well known for his sense of humor.
His wife of 47 years passed away in July, 1998.
He is survived by children Michelle Hansen and her husband Dean Gray, Victor Hansen, and Lisa Hansen and her husband Jeff Rutherford. He also leaves grandchildren Katie Hansen, Abigail Hansen, William Ferguson, Penny Cutter, Jeffery Rutherford; and longtime friend Martha Metarelis.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 25. 2012 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 S. Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, Texas. A reception will be held afterwards at Evergreen at Lewisville, 415 S. Garden Ridge Blvd. Lewisville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a charity of your choice.

We're going to miss you Neil. We are thankful to have had a chance to share Neil as a part of the Metarelis family.
