Council to discuss Jefferson’s future Monday

The Flower Mound Town Council is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. Monday in a special meeting to discuss and consider the employment status of Town Manager Harlan Jefferson, according to the council agenda that was posted Friday.

The agenda also states that the council will discuss and consider job duties for the interim Town Manager, Chuck Springer.

Jefferson’s contract is set to expire in 2015, but he was placed on paid administrative leave Sept. 22. The town’s relationship with the development community has been one reason noted for this situation.

"The council wants to make sure that we feel like we're in the situation where we can move forward and put Flower Mound in the best place to achieve our goals and objectives," Mayor Tom Hayden said at Monday’s council meeting. "It's nothing personal about Mr. Jefferson. It's about looking at where we are.”
