Musicians from nine area churches and three community choruses joined together on Sept. 11 to present the sixth annual "Rejoice" concert, a fundraiser for the Christian Community Action organization.

The three community choruses who participated are: Voices of Flower Mound, Lewisville Civic Chorus and Little Elm Community Chorus. The participating churches were: Abiding Peace Community Church, Argyle United Methodist Church, Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, Faith Lutheran Church, First Baptist Church (Lewisville), Flower Mound Community Church, Lamb of God Lutheran Church, Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church and Westside Baptist Church (Lewisville).

For more that 35 years, CCA has been feeding, sheltering, educating and training families in need within the 42 communities throughout Collin, Dallas, Denton, Tarrant and Wise counties

The audience, numbering over 800, was treated to a selection of spiritual favorites highlighted by a very lively rendition of "Come Let Us Worship the King," composed and directed by Dr. Patrick Bradley, minister of music at Westside Baptist Church.

The annual "Rejoice" concert, organized in 2007, has raised more than $31,000 for CCA. "Rejoice" has continued to grow every year, both in the number of participants and the size of the appreciative audiences.
