Aubrey Lynn & Yellow Rose is getting a handle on organ donation by hosting a fun concert with a twist.

The Americana quartet will hosting a Halloween costume party, performing at Hank's Texas Grill on Saturday, Oct. 27. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

Since releasing her first full length album, "Raisin' Hell," in August 2011, this year has been all about promotion for the 29-year-old Greenville resident. Front woman Aubrey Lynn England released her first single, "Handle On My Handle," to Texas radio in the spring and it's still on the chart for its twenty-eighth week in the Top 100 of the Texas Regional Radio Report, peaking at #63. Not bad for a debut single, England said.

"We have been booking and playing and going anywhere and everywhere we can to promote the album and sell some CD's," England said. "It's been a crazy busy year for me in the managing and booking a band department, since I do all of that by myself."

True to her album, England and her band will be raising hell at Hank's Texas Grill for their "Witch Like Me II" show. The mini Halloween festival of sorts will feature five Dallas-area bands and six acoustic acts, including Jerrod Medulla, Chaz Marie and The Dirty Pesos. Proceeds from the concert will benefit Donate Life Texas to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation.

"Halloween is my favorite holiday, I've always loved it," England said. "So I thought this was kind was of fitting. I've always wanted to do a show that benefits something and this really means a lot to me."

Aubrey Lynn & Yellow Rose isn't taking the Hanks' show lightly, either. Last year, England held a last-minute Halloween concert at her house, and while the party was a hit, having it at a venue like Hank's this go round will certainly encourage more show goers and space, England said.

"I think it's going to be a really cool turnout," England said. "We've booked bands who are all like buddies to me. They're all at the local level and all have draws to the McKinney area."

While supporting the organ donor registration program is the perfect fit for a Halloween show, the topic holds personal ties to the sassy southern belle, as well. In 2009 her friend died and, as a passionate advocate of organ donation, she left much of her body for strangers in need.

"When she passed away, several people got organs - hair, eyes, lungs - she was an all over donor," England said. "These people could live on and have better lives because she was a donor, and I just thought that was the coolest thing."

Today, England and her husband are proud, registered organ donors and are looking forward to spreading awareness about the importance of organ donation while doing what they love.

"It's unreal how people don't even know how hard it is to get [organs]," England said. "If you're not going to use them, why not give them to someone else?"

Having played at Hank's several times, the "Witch Like Me" show will be the band's first show with a bill of this scale. England said she's looking forward to letting loose at Hank's and welcomes anyone who "isn't afraid for us to get a little loud, wild and really crazy!"

"I love it when people dance with us, so [a place where] they can dance is always great," England said. "I think communicating with one another is what makes the world go 'round, and I love that a vast majority of people in this world have an appreciation for communicating through music."
