Rowlett ran its season-opening win streak to nine games on Tuesday with a 53-36 victory over Frisco Centennial.
The Eagles (9-0) once again had few problems, doubling up Centennial in the first quarter and pushing the lead to 28-17 by halftime. While Rowlett never completely ran away in the second half, Centennial never made a serious charge.
Jeffrey Carroll nearly outscored Centennial by himself with a game-high 26 points.
The Eagles will put their undefeated record on the line at the Allen Classic today through Saturday before returning home to host Lovejoy on Tuesday.
Wranglers rally past McKinney North
West Mesquite improved to 5-2 with a come-from-behind 77-65 victory over McKinney North on Tuesday.
The Wranglers dug themselves an early seven-point hole, but clawed back to within 40-38 by halftime.
The second half was all West Mesquite, as it surged to a four-point advantage through three quarters and closed the game on a 20-12 run.
The Wranglers had five players score in double figures. Jalen Etienne Godsen Osioh and Braylon Rayson each scored 15 points, while Nate Davis and Tyrone Davis added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
West Mesquite is slated to compete in the Cedar Hill Lions Club Tournament starting today and then take on a powerful Lancaster squad on Tuesday.
Poteet edged by Greenhill
Poteet's furious comeback attempt fell one point short on Tuesday in a 53-52 loss to Greenhill. The Pirates (1-5) were in deep trouble at halftime after Greenhill used a 23-9 run to take a 34-19 lead.
But Poteet refused to fold, using an 18-7 spurt to get close, and while they outscored Greenhill in the fourth quarter, as well, it was not enough. Chris Murphy scored 12 points to lead the Pirates, who will take part in the Flower Mound Classic today through Saturday and play on the road at North Garland on Tuesday
Sachse falls to 4-4 with loss to Rockwall
Sachse fell behind early and never could quite catch up on Tuesday in a 59-51 loss to Rockwall.
The Mustangs (4-4) were never down by much, but could never mount a huge rally. Sachse trailed 19-14 after one quarter, by seven at halftime and although the second half was even, the deficit never shrunk.
Tyrique Edwards scored 10 points and Marcus Hubbard added nine to pace the offense.
Sachse will play on the road at Episcopal School of Dallas on Friday and then host Lake Dallas on Tuesday.
Stallions' offense stalls in setback to Richardson
North Mesquite got off to a good start on Tuesday but it could not sustain it in a 46-36 loss to Richardson.
The Stallions (4-4) led by three after one quarter and pushed the advantage to 21-16 at halftime. But North Mesquite scored only 15 points in the second half, and when Richardson got its offense going, the Stallions were unable to keep up.
Mike Williams scored 11 points for North Mesquite, which will compete in the Grand Prairie Tournament starting today and then play a road game at Conrad on Monday.
