Vickery Elementary and the Lewisville High School (LHS) triad (Main, Harmon and Killough campuses were recently named by the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce as its October and November school of the month, respectively.

Vickery was selected for its "innovative" lessons such as Neetz Lach's integrated P.E. and foreign language lessons. The LHS triad was honored for going above and beyond the call of duty to serve Fighting Farmers and work to efficiently operate the three campuses as one.

"As a team, they do a wonderful job working together for all Lewisville High School students," Denton Area Teachers Credit Union (DATCU) representative Doug Killough said. "I see how hard LHS administrators and teachers work on all three campuses to ensure all students succeed."

The school of the month program is designed to recognize outstanding Lewisville ISD campuses monthly and is sponsored by DATCU. During November, Killough, fellow DATCU representative Mary Jacoby and Chamber representatives visited Vickery, LHS Main, Harmon and Killough to thank the campuses for their hard work and honor staff. Vickery and LHS triad principals were also honored during the Chamber's November luncheon.

"All our central zone schools do an outstanding job. Every month, I look forward to recognizing one of them for their extra effort to ensure all students enjoy thriving, productive lives in a future they create," said Buddy Bonner, Lewisville ISD central zone leader. "I'm proud that Vickery and LHS were recognized as school of the month in October and November. It is a well-deserved honor for them."
