DeLana Joy Attaway
DeLana Joy Attaway, 60, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 13, 2012, at her home in Coppell, Texas.
She was born November 3, 1952, to Larry and Bobbie Paul in Garland, Texas.
A Celebration of Life will be held 4:30 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Valley Ranch Baptist Church of Coppell. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00, Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Restland Coppell Chapel.
DeLana graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in 1975 with a master's degree in Education. DeLana married the love of her life, Dick Attaway, on December 17, 1977, in Duncanville, Texas. She and her husband moved to Coppell in 1991 where she became a middle school teacher for Coppell. She taught at Coppell Middle School West for six years, then at Coppell Middle School North for 12.
DeLana was a member of Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco and the Coppell High School Band Boosters Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Bobbie Paul.
DeLana is survived by her loving husband, Dick Attaway of Coppell, Texas; daughter, Danae Crume and husband, Bob of Lakewood, Colo.; son, David Attaway and wife, Melinda of Washington, D.C.; son, Dustin Attaway of Coppell, Texas; and granddaughter, Anna Crume of Lakewood, Colo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in DeLana's name to National Foundation for Cancer Research, NFCR, 4600 East West Highway, Suite 525, Bethesda, MD 20814 or www.nfcr.org/donate or to the "Stephanie Weber Foundation," 144 Levee Place, Coppell, TX 75019.
