Russell 'Rusty' Dean Rogers

Russell "Rusty" Dean Rogers of Denison, Texas, went to be with the Lord November 26, 2012 at the age of 49.

He was born January 29, 1963, to Tommy Lee and Mildred (Dean) Rogers of Murphy, Texas.

Russell spent his early days growing up in Plano where his passion for horses, boating, and music first took root. He was a high school graduate of Plano Senior High and received an associate's degree from Christ for the Nations in theology. Russell married his wife, Cindy Lou Martin, on February 21, 2001, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

He was an active member at Red River Cowboy Church, where he loved being a part of the praise and worship team. He will be remembered for his big heart, music, fishing, and love for Jesus.

Russell is survived by his wife, Cindy of Denison, Texas; two children, Christin Rogers McClure and husband Quinten, and son Tyler Rogers; along with the mother of his children, Kelly Jo Rogers of McKinney, Texas; father, Tommy Lee Rogers of Plano, Texas; Aunt Patsy Young and husband John of Lucas, Texas; puppy dog-daughter, Ninny; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Rogers, and grandparents, Granny and Papa Dean.

A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Red River Cowboy Church, 3800 FM 691, Denison, Texas 75020, with Pastor Novice Northington officiating. Interment followed at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
