A shooting in Rowlett has left two people wounded and police looking for two individuals for questioning.

The Rowlett Police Department responded to a call about a shooting in the 9300 block of Shearer Drive at approximately 3:14 p.m. on Dec. 16. When the officers arrived they found two Rowlett residents in the street with gunshot wounds. Abigail Davis, 18, sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder. She was transported to Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett where she was treated and released. Corey Manges, 17, sustained gunshot wounds to the torso and was transported to Parkland Hospital by CareFlight. He is in serious condition following surgery.

Rowlett detectives are working leads and are attempting to locate two individuals that were in the house when the incident took place. Both individuals left the location before the police arrived. The first person police are searching for is an unidentified black male, who is approximately 5-9, 140 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair with facial hair. The second individual is a black male, who is approximately 6-1, 150 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair with facial hair.

“We believe at least one of the two lived at the residence,” said Lt. David Nabors, Rowlett police detective.

According to police, the incident began from an altercation between the suspected shooters and the victims at the rear of the residence. Davis and Manges allegedly entered the residence through the front door following the altercation. At that time an assault occurred, a handgun was produced by a member of the household and Manges and Davis were shot in the front yard as they fled the house.

Davis was arrested for burglary of a habitation, a second degree felony punishable by 2-20 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000. Police say charges will be filed on Manges at a later date.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Rowlett Police Department’s criminal investigation division at 972-412-6220 or Lt. David Nabors at 972-412-6215.
