Watermere at Southlake to break ground in January
From staff reports
Watermere at Southlake has announced that a Phase III South Village expansion within the master-planned development, which received approval from the Southlake City Council last fall, will break ground in January.
The new addition, part of the 30-acre development fronting Southlake Boulevard just west of Davis Boulevard, will consist of 71 single-family homes.
Thirty-eight of those homes in the Southwest Phase are under contract by Darling Homes and will be known as the Verandas at Southlake. They will be designed with the empty-nester buyer in mind – though will not be age-restricted – and will range from 2,500 to 3,700 square feet and be priced from the high $400’s to the mid $600’s.
“Simmons Homes will be offering a wide range of custom-designed luxury residences ranging from 2,500 to 4,000 AC feet – mainly single-story – with additional two- to three-car garages and ample outdoor private living spaces,” said Scott Simmons, president of Simmons Estate Homes. “The uniqueness of these residences will be the owner’s ability to build a custom home in a gated community in Southlake, and downsize their unused interior spaces and the excessive yard maintenance they currently have. Homes in the South Village of Watermere will be priced from $495,000 to $750,000 and above, and will be available in late 2013.”
Construction of the infrastructure for the Verandas at Southlake will begin in January, with the lots being ready for purchase by late spring 2013. The entire project has an estimated 3-year build out, Simmons said.
“Since its founding over 25 years ago, Darling Homes has been recognized as a leader in the design and construction of zero lot line patio homes, and we are very excited to showcase our expertise in the Verandas at Southlake,” said Larry Delzell, president of Darling Homes. “We believe that there is a strong unmet demand in the Southlake area for homeowners looking to downsize to a more convenient lifestyle with less maintenance, while keeping the luxury amenities they are used to. Since the Verandas at Southlake will be a non-age restricted community and will include a beautiful landscaped park in its midst, we can appeal to empty nesters of all ages who are looking for award winning designs and customer service in a one or one and a half story home in a superb location.”
