Doyel Eugene Davis
Doyel Eugene Davis, 88, of Alba, Texas, formerly of McKinney, Texas, passed away January 7, 2013, in Tyler, Texas.
Doyel was born February 8, 1924, in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Lee R. and Samantha (Knight) Davis. He married Alma Gladys Johnson on September 4, 1948, in McKinney.
Doyel and Alma were married for 61 years. He was a proud McKinney police officer for 25 years.
Doyel loved his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
He is survived by his daughters, Debrah Davis-Votaw and husband, Ronald of Muldoon, Texas, Wanda L. Smith and husband, Gary of Dallas, Texas, and Donna Garrett and husband, David of Alba, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Forte and wife, Christi of McKinney, Texas, Ami Nation and husband, Paul of Owensboro, Kentucky, Megan Forte of Lawton, Oklahoma, Heath Bethel and wife, Jessica of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jennifer Sims of Dallas, Texas, Chris Schmeid and husband, Will of Hernando, Mississippi, and Daphne Carmon and husband, Chris, also of Hernando; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas, with Pastor Rick Son officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
