Pedestrians struck by vehicle

On Jan. 1, two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. The incident left both victims hospitalized.
Police said at approximately 6:12 p.m. a man and a woman were crossing the street in the 2000 block of South 121 Business when they were hit by a passing vehicle. The two were not in a crosswalk at the time of the incident. Both pedestrians were taken to an area hospital unconscious with critical injuries. Police said by Friday, at least one victim was awake.
Capt. Jay Powell said initially, it didn't appear that the driver was at fault for the incident. He said the driver stopped at the scene of the accident.
