DOUGAL
Dortha Hamilton Dougal passed away January 15, 2013, in Allen, Texas, at the age of 87.
Dortha Philips was born on March 6, 1925, to Richard and Jennie Philips at Celina, Texas.Dortha had two brothers, Glen and Jim Bob, and one sister, Pearl Reneau.
Dortha's husband, Gene, passed away February 4, 1969. Dortha was employed at the First National Bank for a short time before she went to work as receptionist at the Plano City Hall. She married Al Dougal, a longtime friend and retired engineer, in October, 1990.
Dortha retired from the city in 1988 after 18 years. She and Al moved to the country near Campbell, Texas, where they resided for six years; then to Prosper, Texas, for four years before moving back to Plano in 2003. They did extensive traveling throughout the Western United States, Canada, and Alaska during those years.
Dortha is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sister.
She is survived by her husband, five daughters, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, at the First Baptist Church, 1300 East 15th St., in Plano. Visitation was on Friday evening, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Chapel of the First Baptist Church.
Charitable donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Ted Dickey Funeral Home of Plano has charge of arrangements.
