RATTAN
William Robert Rattan, 78, of Mineola, Texas, died Saturday, January 26, 2013, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Friday, November 16, 1934, in Purmela, Texas to the late Jule Turner and Annie Laura Rattan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Shirley Rattan; and a sister.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Johnnye Rattan of Mineola; five daughters, Kelly Brabeck of Gibert, Arizona, Kim Broadway and husband Paul of Mesquite, Texas, Alana Merriam and husband Ken of Santa Monica, California, Patti Millington and husband John of Lindale, Texas, and Johnna Cantrell and husband Bill of Cedar Creek, Texas; three brothers, Fred Rattan and wife Yvonne of Arlington, Texas, Clark Rattan of Grand Prairie, Texas and Sam Rattan and wife Dayna of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Judy Forrester of Dallas and Estherleen Bourassa and husband Mickey of Apple Valley, California; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola.
A graveside service will be held for Mr. Rattan at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013, at Restland Cemetery in Dallas with Rev. Leland Sawyer officiating.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013, at Lake Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Lane officiating.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, 8111 LBJ Frwy., Dallas, Texas 75251 or Hospice of East Texas.
