The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Richardson/Plano is recruiting teams for the upcoming April 19 event, which will be held at John Paul II High School.

Former and current cancer patients, those who have lost a loved one to cancer, families, businesses, faith-based and civic organizations and anyone wanting to make a difference in the fight against cancer are invited to take part in this exciting team event.

This year’s Richardson/Plano Relay For Life theme, “Give Cancer the Boot,” will help the American Cancer Society save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

Relay is a wonderful community event that brings together friends, families, business, hospitals, school, faith-based groups – all committed to the American Cancer Society’s efforts to save lives by helping people stay well, by helping them get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back.

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s biggest fundraiser. It is much more than a walk, it is a time to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember those lost, and get inspired to fight back. By participating, you have the power to help those in our community who have been touched by cancer while also supporting research so that others won't be affected in the future. Funds raised at the Relay For Life will enable the American Cancer Society to support local services and resources for cancer patients and their families. Funds also support critical cancer research and community education programs designed to teach people how to reduce their risk of developing cancer.
