Barbara Ann Allgood
Barbara Ann Allgood, 81, the wife of Rev. Leonard Allgood, former pastor of First Assembly of God Plano, Texas, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday evening, February 27, 2013, at The Medical Center of Plano.
At the time of Barbara's death, she was surrounded by her family singing her favorite hymns as she entered into the presence of the Lord.

She was born November 10, 1931, to Jack L. and Faye (Turney) Lankford in Dallas, Texas.

In 1957, the Allgood family moved to Plano. They were elected as senior pastors at the First Assembly Of God Church. There they served faithfully for 51 years until their retirement in 2009.

Barbara was very active in church ministry, including teaching the adult Sunday school class and serving as church organist. She was also instrumental in beginning the nursing home ministry which started more than 45 years ago and continues today. Over her more than 56 years of ministry, Barbara Allgood touched the lives of a great number of people as demonstrated by the many messages from those who attended the church and were influenced by her Christian testimony and devoted walk with the Lord. Sis Allgood inspired them to press on in the faith.

Barbara Allgood was a generous and loving pastor's wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. On January 18, 1952, she was blessed to marry the love of her life, Leonard Allgood. They have resided in Plano from 1957 until the present.

She will be greatly missed, but her life and her godly example will continue to serve as a source of comfort to her family and friends.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Rev. Leonard Allgood; son, Rev. Larry Allgood and wife Barbara of Greenville, Texas; daughter, Sheree Freeman and husband Rev. Phillip of Waxahachie, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Allgood and wife Melissa of Conroe, Texas, Alecia Fogleman and husband Adam of Springtown, Texas, and Kari Beyer and husband Scott, Kami Freeman, Kasi Boerigter and husband Mark, all of Waxahachie; great-grandchildren, Sydney Fogleman, Emma Fogelman, Drew Allgood, Elise Allgood, Kali Beyer, Colton Beyer, Colby Beyer, Clayton Boerigter, Carson Boerigter, Cash Boerigter and Creed Boerigter; and great-niece, Renee Duncan and husband Randall of Rockwall, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack L. and Faye Lankford; brother, Jack Lankford, Jr.; sister, Nellie Faye Newman; and granddaughter, Whitney Nicole Allgood.

A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 3, at the First Assembly Of God Church in Plano, 1609 East 14th St., Plano, Texas 75074.
