HARDY

Frank Hardy Jr.
Frank Hardy Jr. was born in Houston and raised in Mexia, Texas.
After Frank graduated high school in Mexia, he moved to Waco to attend college. It was there that he met Esther, the love of his life, and they were married in 1945. Soon thereafter they moved to Dallas to pursue work.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Esther, and their three children, Alan (wife - Janie), Steven (wife - Judy), and Cathy (husband - James), four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Frank worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) for 30 years, and his work took the family from Texas to Japan to Hawaii and back to Texas. During those years Frank traveled all over the Pacific and worked in such exotic locations as Tokyo, Saigon, Manila, Wake, Guam, Okinawa and Honolulu. Though Frank traveled often for his work, he was always eager to come home to his family. On the last leg of his many return journeys, Frank always made time to stop in the Honolulu airport to buy a bouquet of anthuriums for Esther, a symbol of how she was always in his thoughts.

After retiring from AAFES, Frank and Esther moved back to Texas and settled in Little Elm in 1974. Frank opened a tax and bookkeeping service and served many faithful clients in the Little Elm area until 2001, when he retired a second time.

Here in Little Elm, Frank and Esther made many close friends in the community. The family is especially grateful to Carlotta Parmer, Shorty and Felipa Murillo, and Viola Huggins for their longtime friendship and devotion to Frank and Esther.

Frank and Esther were married for 67 years.

A funeral service was held at Button Memorial United Methodist Church in Little Elm on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Gowling and Pastor Denise Peckham officiating. Interment followed at Little Elm Cemetery. A visitation was held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco on Friday, March 1, 2013, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
