Wheaton College Gospel Choir comes to Trietsch
From staff reports
Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church will welcome the Wheaton College Gospel Choir from Chicago to perform in all three sanctuary worship services on Sunday. The services are at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m.
Founded in 1986 with six members, the Wheaton College Gospel Choir has had as many as 120 students participating in musical worship and ministry, and has performed throughout the U.S. and internationally. The choir celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2012 with the release of a CD titled “Legacy.”
The choir recently won second place in the “How Sweet the Sound” competition for gospel choirs sponsored by Verizon Wireless. The competition is one of the largest choir competitions in the nation. Wheaton's choir was the first non-church-affiliated gospel choir to advance to regional competition in the five-year history of the competition.
Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church is located at 6101 Morriss Road, just south of FM 407 in Flower Mound. Visit www.tmumc.org or call 972-539-8547 for information.
