12-5A BOYS SOCCER: Stallions, Jaguars victorious in district play

North Mesquite vaulted into third place on Friday with a 4-1 victory over Rockwall-Heath.
The Stallions (2-1-1-0, eight points) were able to leapfrog Longview (2-2-0-1, seven points) after they dropped a 1-0 decision to Rockwall.
North Mesquite got a pair of goals from Oscar Ocampo and additional scores from Juan Gonzalez and Roberto Gonzalez, while the Hawks' lone score came courtesy of Hayden Moore.
Horn (2-2-0-0, six points) crept closer to the leading pack with a 6-1 victory over Mesquite on Friday.
The Skeeters got a goal from Kelvin Ledezma, but they remain winless in 12-5A play.
The Jaguars will have a chance to move up in the standings on Tuesday when they travel to play fourth-place Longview.
North Mesquite will take on undefeated Tyler Lee, which shares first place with Rockwall with 12 points, on Tuesday at Berry Middle School.
