Anderson offered by UCLA, Arizona

As the days go on, Plano West junior running back Auston Anderson continues to pick up Division I offers.

That latest came Thursday from UCLA.

Anderson received his first offer Feb. 6 from Northwestern. Rice and Navy were then added to the list prior to Arizona, which offered March 6.

According to Anderson, no choice is imminent.

The 5-foot-8, 175-pounder moved to varsity as a sophomore in 2011, but became a full-time starter in 2012. The results were productive as the Wolves made the regional finals and Anderson was a first team all-district and all-Collin County selection after rushing for 1,156 yards and 13 touchdowns.

That is the same day of the girls team contest.

Former state champion Plano East (2011) is seeded No. 23. That team includes junior Shana Geerdes, the top seed in Saturday's individual state tourney with a district average of 225.

Groselle has done well off the court too as the civil engineering major has a 3.693 GPA.
