Value for the dollar: Festival offers discounted tickets

One of the driving forces behind the continued success of the city of Mesquite's Real.Texas.Festival. is value -- and the city wants to give attendees the most bang for their buck.
One way the city adds to the value each ticket purchaser receives is by offering a reduced presale price. The city cuts the ticket price in half for those who take advantage of the early-bird price and buy their tickets in advance. The presale tickets for the festival go on sale on Friday, March 22. The cost for a presale ticket is $10.
"We are confident that people see the value of our ticket. Value is not the only attraction to come to the festival, but it is one of them," said Wayne Larson, city of Mesquite communications director.
"With Mom and Dad each buying a $10 ticket and the kids getting in free, that means a family of four can come and enjoy all the festival entertainment for $20," Larson said.
The festival will take place from 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday, April 26, and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at the city's rodeo center, 1818 Rodeo Drive. Last year, more than 30,000 people attended the two-day event, making it one of the most successful festivals in North Texas.
This year's musical lineup will feature Pat Green on April 26 and Kevin Fowler on April 27. Both headliners perform at 9:30 p.m. Attendees of the two-day event will also have the opportunity to hear more than two dozen bands and entertainers on three different stages, see a live indoor rodeo, visit a classic car show and look at the booths of numerous displays and vendors.
The last day to purchase the discounted tickets is April 14. Tickets will be $20 at the gate. To purchase tickets or to get information on the festival, visit www.realtexasfestival.com.
