Three weeks after the filing deadline to run for the Plano ISD Board of Trustees, one candidate has announced she no longer intends to seek a spot on the board.
In an email to the Plano Star Courier on Thursday, Allison Johnston stated she was stepping down from her campaign. Johnston was one of three challengers who filed to run for Place 2 against incumbent Carrolyn Moebius.
"Due to events outside my control, I do not feel that I could move forward and serve the students, parents, staff and citizens of Plano in the way they deserve," Johnston wrote.
In addition to Moebius and Johnston, Paul Kaminsky and Mark Hanna will appear on the ballot for Place 2.
