Seven Loaves Food Pantry & CommUnity Center's 2nd Annual Feeding the Need Luncheon raises awareness of the impact of hunger and poverty in Collin County. Senator Florence Shapiro will serve as the keynote speaker, presenting many ways to be part of the solution, especially through collaboration. She will be honored with the first Seven Loaves Community Leadership Award for passionately serving and proactively meeting the needs of the community and advocating community and collaborative solutions. Kathy Stutesman is the event chair.
Students from Prince of Peace Christian School, middle and high school classes, will be conducting a food drive and designing and building food sculptures for display at the luncheon event, representing youth giving back to the community. The items will then be donated to the food pantry. Prince of Peace Christian School students serve as ongoing pantry volunteers.
While raising awareness of the needs in Collin County, the luncheon will challenge attendees to not only be more aware of the impact of poverty, but to proactively be a part of the solution. Sponsorships are available.
