Light up the sky: Fireworks, fun and music will fill Main Street on July 4
The city of Rowlett is preparing for its annual Fireworks on Main event. This year the city staff expects a crowd of 20,000 people will flock to the city to take part in the festivities from 5 to 10 p.m. on July 4.
Lasting memory: Kids Kingdom fence pickets available for pickup
Last week the city of Rowlett began removing the Kids Kingdom playground at Pecan Grove Park. The playground was deemed unsafe for use after an independent inspection was performed.
Improving communication: City OKs building of cell tower
The Rowlett City Council approved an agreement on June 4 to allow the construction of a new cellphone tower on city-owned property under a facilities license agreement. The construction of the tower will improve cellphone service in the city, particularly in the Waterview area.
