DanIel Pendergraft graduated from Allen HS in 2009. He has been attending Belmont in Nashville, Tenn., for the last four years. He will graduate in December. He is the keyboard player in Williams & Company. They are raising funds to bring their band to Texas. Here is some info about them.
Cruisin' in the Park 2013 offers family fun in Plano's Haggard Park
On Saturday, May 11, Plano's Haggard Park was filled with fun for all ages at "Cruisin' in the Park" -- a Plano Rotary Club event supported by The Plano Conservancy for Historic Preservation Inc. and the Historic Downtown Plano Association to celebrate Plano and National Historic Preservation Month.

Mesquite Rotary Club presents more than $11,000 in scholarships
The Mesquite Rotary Club hosted its annual Scholarship Recognition and Awards Luncheons at the Dallas Athletic Club on April 30 and May 7. At the events, the top ten candidates for graduation in the Class of 2013 from each Mesquite ISD high school, Sunnyvale High School, and Dallas Christian School were honored, and scholarship awards of $1,250 each were presented to students from each of these schools. Also, a $1,000 scholarship went to a student from the Mesquite Academy, and two students from the Eastfield College Rotaract Club received $750 scholarships. This investment by the club in the future of these deserving area scholars totaled $11,250.

Wolves help out!
This weekend, varsity members of the Plano West Wolves football team assisted with the Seven Loaves Food Pantry Derby Day at St. Andrew United Methodist Church. The event was organized by the St. Andrew UMC Seven Loaves Food Pantry to help raise money for the pantry, which is a critical component to help fight hunger here in Collin County. It also included both a 5K and Family 1K Fun runs and carnival.
The Samaritan Inn expanding to meet increasing problem of homelessness
The Samaritan Inn, located in McKinney, Texas, is the largest residential homeless program in Collin County. But it is not large enough to meet the increasing trend of homelessness in our area.

Garden of butterflies in full bloom at Collin Creek Mall
Saturday, May 11 to Sunday, May 19, Collin Creek Mall will be all aflutter when the Butterfly Festival, sponsored by The Kiwanis Club of Greater Plano, returns to the shopping center. Visitors are able to stroll through the temporary butterfly habitat, encountering the butterflies and enjoying up-close experiences with the delicate creatures.

Interurban Railway Museum to feature 'Rural Texas Women at Work' exhibit
Beginning Wednesday, May 1, 2013, The Plano Conservancy for Historic Preservation Inc. will present “Rural Texas Women at Work, 1930–1960,” an exhibition sponsored by Texas A&M University, Texas Agricultural Extension Service, Arts Council of Brazos Valley and produced by Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The exhibit will be on display at the Interurban Railway Museum in historic downtown Plano.
