I feel like I should be more of an embracer of Twitter.

After all, I was part of the first wave of people using Twitter, setting up my account in September 2008 (and talking to some guy in Korea over the phone to do so) so that I could update people on scores during the football game, which of course is commonplace now.

But if you look at my new and improved Twitter account (@OThankKevin) you will see my interest in the then-new technology quickly died out. I sporadically tweeted future football games and even a soccer match before the account was mercifully put to an end in June 2009 after a super topical remark about John and Kate ... hey, it was 2009, what do you want from me?!

When I heard last week that Pope Benedict XVI was retiring, I was fairly shocked ... mainly because I didn't know a Pope could retire.

I've had some time to think about it and I'd like to put my name forward as a candidate for the next pope. The 1.2 billion Catholics of the world, myself included, need a leader and I just might be the man for the job.

Don't believe me, I have testimonial ... OK, a testimonial.

I'm sure all you fine readers have by now perused all the tremendous articles we've posted about the Texas vs. The Nation college all-star game and if not, go ahead and do so now, I'll wait ............... OK, are you back?

Good.

To put together these stories, we've had in-depth access to the events, so I wanted to pull back the curtain and give you details surrounding the event that weren't quite fit for print ... that's fine, the web is cooler anyway.

A couple years ago, while in kindergarten, my son began playing organized basketball.

For his first game, I wrote a pseudo-game story and posted it on the blog for him to enjoy. Apparently, it was a hit as the first game of the second grade season was Saturday and several parents asked if I would be writing about it.

So, without further ado ... OK, maybe just a little ado ... I bring you the recap of the Hawks' first game of the season.

I do believe the last time I endeavored to write a Blogosaurus was a little more than a year and a half ago when I started my part-time radio gig as a host of The K&C Masterpiece on 105.3 The Fan.
